Updates Coming
I may trash the whole thing and reboot. I have an idea of what I want to do and am ready to run with it.

Alright, back in action and a little late. I’ve been moving and going over a lot of things, trying to figure out where I’m going.
The fact of the matter is: I don’t know where I’m going. Part of me is really excited by it. Part of me is worried as shit.
Let’s cut the enigmatic shit and get to the core: I’ve been working on Shine A Light and learning JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3 while my real desire is to get into game development. However, if I were to go back into games, I would have to dump Shine A Light and learning my new stuff, and then switch to Lua and use Corona for game development. I already paid for Corona, so I should use it.
However, I really feel that, despite my desires to work on games, I should see something through. So, I’m sticking with Shine A Light and I’m going to design a game and pay other people to do the graphics and programming. The joke is, the game is pretty much designed. So, now I just need to find an artist and a programmer.
Regular updates will resume on October, 8th. BE THERE.
Updates may be slow for a while. I’m busy getting stuff together to register a business and really figuring out where I’m directing this thing.
Shine A Light is, effectively, finished. I’ve got some additions but it’s good. Next project is the Hazmat Comic Viewer. After that, I have a super cool project that a couple friends have been helping me with.
Stay tuned.

Beer and games. Those two ingredients make for a pretty fantastic Thursday.
Continuing with Chrono Trigger this week. Matt’s making his way through the Tyrano Lair right now.
This Thursday’s beer was Stone Cali-Belgique IPA. Pretty good, a bit sweet with some fruity undertones. It was no Ranger, but it worked.

I added a drop down menu to Shine A Light. It allows you to see a list of “good” things to do. Next, I want a list of “reportable” actions (like, you see someone do something). And I’ve got a couple of other features planned. After I get the website to a decent form, I may work on the apps anyway. Just to get some exp.
I won’t be updating tomorrow, because I’ve got class/work, and it takes up the whole day.

Let’s do this quick.
I threw together page 6. In this one, you see what I’m doing when I am entirely artistically disadvantaged. I write a note as to what I would like to see in the panel and then leave it to Matt to imagine the image (hence the credits will read “Words by Jesse, Pictures by Matt”). I’ll sometimes provide some images that I imagine to be similar to how it should look. The text in these panels read, “Sure. It’s seen its share of cowboys”, “Indians”, “Land rushes”, “And cattle drives.”
It’s an opening segment that goes to describe how boring living in the plains can be for teenage boys.
I have to get to work. Over and out.
Okay, scant updates on the day. I’ve been working on a new logo and an overview of what it is I am planning on doing with this site.
So far, it’s been a bit haphazard, and … dry. I need to give people reasons to come back. So, I’ll be keeping that in mind as I work tonight.
This is also the reason that I haven’t started marketing the site yet. I haven’t told anyone besides close friends and family. I’ll be looking for feedback soon. The plan is to have the site “live” by October 31, so I can start trying to attract readers. Until then … it’s all practice.
Tomorrow, the plan is: A new logo and some work on Shine A Light. Oh… and a Hazmat upload.

Well, I have a live updating version of Shine A Light, I just haven’t uploaded it. I’m having some mental trouble with the thing. There is a fairly similar project out there, particularly with the move to 2D. But … I was going to link it here, and their website seems to be down. Odd.
What’s been tough today is the HTML5 geolocation not working with iOS. At least, not a WiFi iPad. So. I don’t know what I’m going to do with that yet. Maybe just say, screw it. Or. Allow for text entry of an address. I do have a Google API key.
This are the times I feel like giving up and moving to another project, but … that’d be denying the whole purpose behind this site.
Screw it.
It’s uploaded. You can watch the building in progress.

I’m working on a couple projects at once right now. The primary that I have been discussing here has been Shine A Light, my project to help me learn web programming. However, I’m the chief writer over at Froghaus, and our project at the moment is a comic called Hazmat, SD.
Matt has been under the weather and we’ve been dramatically late in updating our Facebook page, so I have taken it upon myself to upload my sketches and attach some commentary on how the whole thing works. Read more
